This post-Thanksgiving week holds several opportunities to save, share and be creative with fresh greenery and more. Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving weekend, the first very busy days of Christmas tree sales, S’mores by the Campfire, and introducing Mona the Elf!
Picking out the tree is a family tradition.
Make a S’more!
Through Sunday, Dec. 3rd, our Home for the Holidays Sale continues with 25% off All Lifelike Christmas Decor, Pre-lit Trees and Christmas Theme Gifts. Our selection is unique and plentiful. Stop in to choose some treasures for your holiday home and make memories at Grandma’s! Sale excludes fresh/live/cut items and Thymes® fragrance products (the ones that make your home smell JUST like a Christmas tree and a few others).
Trees for Troops Year #11 is underway and we’re half way to our goal. Can you help us fill a FedEx truck with 100 fresh-cut Christmas trees for the U.S. Army families at Fort Hood, TX? Price is still just $30 per Fraser Fir, and you can tag with a personal Christmas greeting or we’ll tag for you if you would like to place a phone order at 937-885-2740.
The Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx will deliver their 200,000th Trees for Troops Christmas tree this year! Founded in 2005 and supported by Grandma’s Gardens as a tree seller since 2007 (we’re the only Ohio location this year), this organization delivers the spirit of Christmas one tree at a time. What a nice way to say “Thank You” for the sacrifice made by our enlisted troops and their families. See www.treesfortroops.org for more info.
Have a “ride” in our antique sleigh and create a unique memory to preserve. You and your family and well behaved pets are welcome to use our sleigh for pictures. No charge, but donations to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton will be accepted.
Once again we’re collecting donations for the families served by the Warren County Abuse and Rape Crisis Shelter. Deliveries will be made as the boxes are filled, through Sunday, Dec. 10th. Keeping in mind that some of their clients may be staying at the shelter, living with relatives while looking for new housing and possibly working with a legal advocate during court proceedings, we made a call to find out any particular needs this year. A special request was made for:
Socks — Adult & Children
Women’s Bikini Underwear – 6,7,8
Women’s Briefs – 9 and up
Slippers – Adult & Children
Diapers – all sizes
Paper Goods: Tissues, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels
Toy needs are being taken care of by the Toys for Tots program and local charities.
Thank You so very much if you can help. There’s a wrapped collection box in the Gift Shop.
